Daddy Mac's down home dive

Picture

One of Two Thirsty Bikers recent adventures led us to Daddy Macs Down Home Dive in Farragut, Tennessee. Yeah, you know the location, formerly known as Wild Wings Cafe. We haven't been there since they switched over so we thought it would be a good time to drop in and check them out.
As we rolled in, we noticed a lot of the same similarities. Same location with a kick ass bar over looking the small lake, large parking area and YES… Bike parking right in front. So far so good.
First things first, the beer was COLD and whoever was mixing drinks behind the bar was phenomenal.
We weren’t sure what we would find regarding the menu change but we were in for a surprise. Very small variety of wing flavors but we will say, that we ordered each flavor and they were all really good but let us tell you, the Daddy Mac BBQ board was unreal. It was huge and the flavor was on point. They have a smaller Mamma Mac Board for you those of you who can’t handle a real man’s meal. But it’s ok, we still love you anyway.
They have live music frequently so we got there a little early to ensure we had good seats because we knew the band that was playing and we know how good they are, but surprisingly, the place never filled up. A Saturday night with a kick ass band and the place was half full…. Just weird to us but whatever, we had a GREAT time.
We will say that since the restaurant changed hands, we really miss the Hot Shots appetizers that were previously offered. We would ride many miles to have an order of those Hot Shots. We know, we know, we’re whining, but hey, there are still fried pickles on the menu.
The only bad thing that we can really say, and this is not aimed at Daddy Macs at all, but… if you are outside smoking, don’t throw your s**t, trash, butts, whatever into the lake. There are ashtrays and trash cans by each door. That lake is awesome, help keep it that way.

We give Daddy Macs a score of 9 . A definite return trip is in order for sure. If you haven’t been there, you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s kinda like a hidden gem, that’s been there all along. Go take a visit, you won’t be disappointed.
Keep your knees in the breeze and stay thirsty friends…

Par-T-Pub Bar and Grill

Picture
Two Thirsty Bikers recently took a trip over to Alcoa and swung into the Par-T-Pub Bar & Grill. Why you might ask, well, it’s because that’s what we do…
This place is an over 21 blue collar style establishment that allows smoking inside (Hence “over 21”). Don’t worry, they have smoke fans all over the ceilings, so you’ll be alright.
Now this is a cool little place that has some amazing bar tenders and the most important thing… the beer is COLD!!! The “Pub” as we like to call it, has several beers on tap, a wide variety of craft beers and a good stock in ye old liquor cabinet.

While we were there, we of course had to eat, because we’re not just Two Thirsty Bikers but we get hungry quite often too. We had several different items from the food menu and everything was really really good. The chicken tenders, quesadilla and Pub Burger were awesome. The nacho’s are freaking HUGE and amazing as well and you definitely shouldn’t forget the fried okra as an  appetizer.
There are numerous TV’s located throughout the entire bar with varying sports on each and they have karaoke on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday nights with some pretty damn good singers and some that try really hard.

And here is the best part… They are open from 8AM- 12AM, yeah, you read that right… 8:00 AM… and their “Happy Hour” specials run until 7:00 PM. Who couldn’t like that?
They also have a very large parking area (well they ARE located in Midland Plaza soooo) with bike parking up front.

The downside to the pub is there's no outdoor seating and If you are one of those riders that like to keep an eye on your scooter, you’ll need to get up from your drink and go outside to check on it. We know, we know, it’s hard sometimes to get up from your drink, BUT… it is what it is.
In closing, we give the Par-T-Pub a score of 8, and we will DEFINITELY return to this bar soon and you should too!
